# Connect Dayforce

Dayforce is an HRIS integration that syncs employee, job, and compensation data to Pave using Dayforce's Report API.

## Before you connect

You need a custom report, a dedicated API user, and specific role permissions in Dayforce before connecting. Complete all three steps below.

### Step 1: Create the report

1. In Dayforce, log in as an admin and go to **Reporting Designer** from the main menu.
2. Click **Add Report** and select employee data.
3. Add the fields you want to sync to Pave (see "Fields that sync" below).
4. Save the report. Include "Pave" in the report title so it is easy to identify.
5. Make sure a **Report Integration Name** is defined for the report.

### Step 2: Create an API user

1. In Dayforce, go to **Admin > API Management Console** (or **API configuration**).
2. Under Report API settings, create a new user with a username and password.
3. Limit the user's access to the custom report you created in step 1.

### Step 3: Configure role permissions

The API user's role must have access to the following:

* **Report Library** (System Admin > Features tab > System Admin > Roles > Report Library subfeature)
* **Reporting & Analytics** and **Reports**
* **HCM Anywhere**, **Web Services**, **Read Data**
* The **corporate-level location** in your organization
* Navigate to **System Admin > User** and enable **Can See Self** for the API user
* Under **Data & Analytics > Reporting > Reports > Report Properties > Security**, add the user's role to the **Selected** list
* If your report is nested under a parent report, grant the user access to the parent report as well

## Connect Dayforce to Pave

1. In Pave, go to **Connections** and find Dayforce.
2. Enter the **Username** and **Password** for the API user you created.
3. Enter your **Client Namespace ID**.
4. Enter the **Report URL** for your custom report.
5. Select your **Workspace Environment** (Config or Production).
6. Click **Submit**. Pave will run a verification sync to test the connection.
7. Go to **Connections** and verify the Dayforce integration shows as connected.

## Troubleshooting

**"Was not able to retrieve access token"** The credentials you entered may be incorrect, or the API user may not have the required permissions. Verify the username, password, and Client Namespace ID, then check that the user's role includes HCM Anywhere, Web Services, and Read Data access.

**No data appears after connecting** Verify that the API user has access to the custom report and to the corporate-level location. Check that the report contains data when run directly in Dayforce's Reporting Designer.

**Data is missing or incomplete** Check that your custom report includes all the fields you expect to sync. If manager data is missing, verify that the API user's role has access to employee manager information.

**Connection shows in error state** Click **Resolve** on the Dayforce integration in Pave to re-enter your credentials. If the issue persists, verify that the API user has not been deactivated and that the report is still accessible.

## Fields that sync

Custom mappings may apply to your account. The fields available depend on what you include in your Dayforce custom report.
