# Connect Gusto

Gusto is an HRIS integration that syncs employee, job, and compensation data to Pave via OAuth.

## Before you connect

* You must be a **Gusto payroll admin** to authorize the connection.

## Connect Gusto to Pave


1. In Pave, go to **Connections** and find Gusto.
2. Click **Authorize**. You will be redirected to Gusto.
3. Log in to Gusto if prompted, review the permissions, and approve Pave's access.
4. You will be redirected back to Pave. Go to **Connections** and verify the Gusto integration shows as connected.

## Troubleshooting

**No companies found after authorizing** The account you used to authorize may not have payroll admin access in Gusto. Log in to Gusto and verify your role, then go to **Connections** in Pave and click **Authorize** to try again with the correct account.

**Connection shows as inaccessible** The authorization flow may not have completed. Go to **Connections**, find Gusto, and click **Authorize** to restart the process.

**Data stops syncing** Gusto access tokens expire periodically. Pave refreshes tokens automatically, but if the refresh fails, the integration will stop syncing. Go to **Connections**, find Gusto, and click **Authorize** to re-establish the connection.

## Fields that sync

Custom mappings may apply to your account.

* First name, last name, preferred first name
* Work email, date of birth
* Current employment status
* Job title, department
* Hire date
* Work address (city, state, country, zip)
* Manager name, manager email
* Base compensation (annual, monthly, weekly, or hourly rate, annualized)
* Bonus, commission (from processed payroll records)

### Additional data

* **Compensation history**: Not supported.
* **Custom fields**: Supported. Custom fields are enabled per-company and require setup by Pave's team.
* **Benefits**: Not supported.
