# Connect Paylocity

Paylocity is an HRIS integration that syncs employee, job, and compensation data to Pave. Paylocity supports two connection methods: API (via the Paylocity Marketplace) and SFTP (file-based reports).

### Which method should I use?

* **API**: Use this method if your Paylocity account has access to the Marketplace. You authorize Pave through Paylocity's integration marketplace and provide your Company ID.
* **SFTP**: Use this method if your organization uses file-based reporting. You create three reports in Paylocity that sync to Pave on a schedule. SFTP setup requires assistance from Pave's team.

## Before you connect

### API method

You need to authorize Pave in the Paylocity Marketplace before entering your Company ID in Pave.

1. In Paylocity, go to **HR & Payroll > Web Link > Web Services > Integrations**.
2. Click **Browse Marketplace** and search for "Pave."
3. Click **Begin Integration** to access, complete, and sign the PADE Form.
4. If requested, enter Pave's contact information:
   * Name: Alicia Kapjian-Pitt
   * Email: integrations@pave.com
   * Phone: 415-358-7880
5. Have your **Paylocity Company ID** ready.

### SFTP method

Contact your Pave Customer Success Engineer or email support@pave.com to receive file delivery instructions. You will need to create three reports in Paylocity:

**Employee report** (name the file exactly: `Pave Paylocity report employee data.csv`)

1. In Paylocity, create a new **Dynamic report**.
2. Select the data set **Employee Record Information**.
3. Click **Start Building**.
4. Select all fields under:
   * Employee Current Demographics
   * Employee Contact Information
   * Employee Pay Rate Information
   * Employee Position
   * Employee Status
   * Custom Fields

**Base salary report** (name the file exactly: `Employee_Pay_Rate_History_Records.csv`)

Use the standard **Employee Pay Rate History Records** report in Paylocity.

**Benefit report** (name the file exactly: `Pave Paylocity benefit report.xlsx`)

1. Create a new **Dynamic report**.
2. Select the data set **Employee Benefit Election**.
3. Click **Start Building**.
4. Select all fields under:
   * Benefit Election
   * Employee Current Demographics

All reports must include an **Employee Id** column so Pave can join records across files.

## Connect Paylocity to Pave

### API method

1. In Pave, go to **Connections** and find Paylocity.
2. Enter your **Paylocity Company ID**.
3. Click **Complete**. Pave will run a verification sync to test the connection.
4. Go to **Connections** and verify the Paylocity integration shows as connected.

### SFTP method

After creating the reports and working with your Pave CSE to configure file delivery, Pave will begin syncing data automatically. No additional steps are needed in the Pave UI.

## Troubleshooting

**Missing Company ID error** Make sure you entered a valid Paylocity Company ID. This is the numeric identifier for your company in Paylocity, not your company name.

**No data appears after connecting (API)** Verify that the Paylocity Marketplace authorization (PADE Form) is complete. If the form was started but not signed, the connection will not work.

**Data is missing or incomplete (API)** If specific fields are missing, check that your Paylocity Marketplace authorization includes the required data permissions. If employee location shows as "HOME," Pave will use the employee's home address instead.

**Reports not syncing (SFTP)** Check that your report file names match exactly (including capitalization and file extension). The employee report must be `.csv` and the benefit report must be `.xlsx`. Verify that reports are still running on schedule in Paylocity.
