# Customize branding in Total Rewards and Visual Offer Letter

Your branding in Total Rewards and Visual Offer Letter creates immediate recognition and trust with employees and candidates. A well-branded compensation experience reinforces your employer brand at a critical moment — when people are learning about their total rewards or reviewing an offer.

For information on customizing compensation display settings, see [Customize compensation display](https://support.pave.com/articles/customize-compensation-display-3PFKaxTje7). For branding in Reward Letters, see [Reward letters](https://support.pave.com/articles/reward-letters-4KRA17kBVn).

## What you can customize and why it matters

### Company logo

**Why:** Your logo builds instant brand recognition and professionalism. When employees or candidates view their compensation, seeing your familiar branding signals they're in an official, trusted company resource.

**What:** Upload your company logo to appear at the top of Total Rewards and Visual Offer Letter pages.

### Brand and banner colors

**Why:** Consistent colors create visual cohesion with your broader employer brand. They help employees immediately identify this as an official company experience and improve the aesthetic appeal of compensation pages.

**What:** Set a primary brand color for UI accents throughout Total Rewards, and a banner color for the welcome banner background.

### Welcome banner

**Why:** A personalized welcome banner increases engagement and makes compensation feel relevant to each person. Adding context like job title, location, or start date helps employees and candidates immediately connect the compensation data to their specific role.

**What:** Customize the title, body text, image or video, and metadata fields (like job title, location, start date) that appear in the welcome banner. You can configure separate banners for employees and candidates, or use the same banner for both.

### About Us section

**Why:** An About Us page builds transparency and culture alignment. It's an opportunity to share your company story, values, benefits philosophy, or team culture in the same place employees view their compensation — connecting the "what" (their pay) with the "why" (your mission and values).

**What:** Add an optional About Us page to Total Rewards with tabs containing rich text, images, and videos to share company information.

**Note:** Visual Offer Letter uses the same logo as Total Rewards. The welcome banner, brand color, and About Us section do not apply to Visual Offer Letter.

## How to customize branding

Navigate to **Settings > Communicate > Appearance**.

### Upload a logo

**Impact:** Your logo creates instant brand recognition and establishes trust. Employees and candidates immediately know they're viewing an official company resource, not a third-party tool.

**How to configure:**

1. In the Logo section, click **Upload logo**.
2. Select an image file.
3. The logo appears at the top-left of Total Rewards and Visual Offer Letter pages.
4. To replace the logo, click **Change logo**. To remove it, click **Delete logo**.
   Logo changes apply to both Total Rewards and Visual Offer Letter. When you save, the updated logo appears immediately for all employees and candidates viewing these pages.

### Set brand and banner colors

**Impact:** Brand-consistent colors create visual continuity between Total Rewards and your other employer brand touchpoints (career site, onboarding materials, internal communications). This consistency makes the experience feel cohesive and professional. Banner colors also establish visual hierarchy — a distinct banner color helps the welcome section stand out and guide employees' attention.

**How to configure:**

1. In the Styling section, click the **Brand Color** color picker.
2. Select a color using the picker, or enter a hex code.
3. Click the **Banner Color** color picker to set the welcome banner background color.
   **Outcome:** The brand color affects UI accents and elements throughout Total Rewards (not Visual Offer Letter). The banner color sets the background for the welcome banner on the Total Rewards homepage. By default, brand color is set to gray-300 and banner color is set to gray-50. Changes take effect immediately for all users when you save.

### Customize the welcome banner

**Impact:** A personalized welcome banner increases engagement by making compensation feel directly relevant to each viewer. When employees see their own job title, location, or manager displayed alongside a personalized message, they're more likely to engage deeply with their compensation data. For candidates, showing their offer details (job title, location, start date) in the banner reinforces that this offer is specifically for them, increasing the perceived value and personalization of the offer experience.

**How it works:** The banner appears at the top of the Total Rewards homepage. It can include a title, body text, an image or video, and metadata that dynamically displays information specific to each person viewing the page.

#### For companies with Total Rewards only

If your company does not have Visual Offer Letter, you configure a single welcome banner that appears for all employees.

1. In the Welcome Banner section, enter a **Title** (displayed prominently at the top of the banner).
2. Optionally, enter **Body** text (appears below the title).
3. To add an image or video, click **Add media** and upload a file or enter a URL.
4. In the **Metadata** section, select which employee fields to display:

   * Job title

   * Level

   * Location

   * Manager

   * Tenure
     **Outcome:** The metadata fields you select appear below the banner title and body with dynamic values. For example, if you select "Job Title" and "Location", an employee sees their own current job title and location pulled from their employee record.

#### For companies with Visual Offer Letter

If your company has Visual Offer Letter, you can configure separate welcome banners for employees and candidates. This allows you to tailor messaging and context appropriately for each audience — for example, welcoming candidates to their offer while celebrating current employees' tenure.

1. Click the **Employees** tab to configure the employee banner.
2. Configure the title, body, media, and metadata as described above.
3. Click the **Candidates** tab to configure the candidate banner.
4. By default, **Use the same settings for employees and candidates** is checked. When checked, the candidate banner automatically matches the employee banner. Uncheck this to customize the candidate banner separately.
5. If you customize the candidate banner, enter a separate title, body, media, and metadata. Candidate metadata options include:

   * Job title

   * Level

   * Location

   * Start date

   **Note:** Manager and tenure are not available for candidates.
   **Outcome:** The metadata fields you select appear below the banner title and body with dynamic values. For employees, these values come from their employee record (current job title, location, manager, tenure). For candidates, they come from the offer details (offered job title, location, start date). This personalization helps each viewer immediately connect the compensation data to their specific situation.

#### Translations

**Impact:** Localized banner content ensures employees and candidates in different regions see welcome messages in their preferred language, increasing accessibility and engagement across your global workforce.

**How to configure:** If your company supports multiple languages, use the **Locale Selector** dropdown (top-right of the page) to switch between languages and enter translated versions of the banner title and body. Logo, colors, media, and metadata selections apply to all languages. For information about configuring multi-language support, contact your account admin.

### Add an About Us section

**Impact:** An About Us page builds transparency, trust, and culture alignment by connecting compensation to your company's broader mission and values. When employees view their Total Rewards alongside information about your company story, team culture, or benefits philosophy, they better understand the "why" behind their compensation. This context increases perceived value and helps employees see themselves as part of a larger mission, not just recipients of a paycheck.

**What you can share:** Use this section to highlight your company's mission, share team culture stories, explain your benefits philosophy, showcase employee testimonials, or communicate other context that helps employees connect emotionally to your organization.

**How to configure:**

1. Navigate to **Settings > Communicate > About Us**.
2. Enter an **About Us Header** (appears as the page title).
3. Click **Add Tab** to create a new tab.
4. Enter a **Tab Name** (appears as the tab label).
5. Use the rich text editor to add content. You can format text, add links, insert images, and embed videos.
6. Drag tabs to reorder them.
7. To delete a tab, click the delete icon on the tab.
   If your company supports multiple languages, use the **Locale Selector** to switch languages and enter translated versions of the header, tab names, and tab content. For information about configuring multi-language support, contact your account admin.

**Outcome:** The About Us page appears in the Total Rewards navigation menu after you save. Employees can access it while viewing their compensation data, providing context and culture at the moment they're most engaged with their total rewards. The page does not appear in Visual Offer Letter.

### Save your changes

After making changes to any branding settings, click **Save** at the bottom of the page. Changes take effect immediately for all employees and candidates viewing Total Rewards and Visual Offer Letter.

## What else should I know?

**Permissions** - You need the `settings.communicate.configs` edit permission to customize branding. If you do not see the Save button or cannot edit fields, contact your account admin to request access. For more information about permissions, see [Configure role permissions](https://support.pave.com/articles/configure-role-permissions-GCy8tvCvQ5).

**Logo requirements** - Logos should be square or horizontal (landscape) format for best results. Tall vertical logos may appear too large or be cropped. There is no file size limit, but large files may load slowly for users.

**Banner color contrast** - If you choose a dark banner color, banner text is automatically adjusted to white for readability. Light banner colors display dark text.

**Show confetti** - In the Styling section, you can toggle **Show confetti** on or off. When enabled, confetti animation appears on the Total Rewards homepage. This setting does not affect Visual Offer Letter.

**Media in banners** - Supported media types include images (JPG, PNG, GIF) and video URLs (YouTube). For videos, enter the full URL to the video. The video embeds in the banner and plays inline.

**Rich text in About Us** - The About Us rich text editor supports basic formatting (bold, italic, underline, lists, headings), links, images, and embedded videos. HTML and custom styling are not supported.

**Deleting About Us tabs** - Deleting a tab permanently removes the content. This action cannot be undone.

**Branding does not apply to all Communicate features** - These branding settings apply only to Total Rewards and Visual Offer Letter. Other Communicate features may use different branding or no custom branding.
