What Gets Deleted
When you delete bands:
- Compensation data is removed (min/mid/max values)
- Benchmark data is deleted
- The band is removed from its data rule
- Employees lose band assignments
What's NOT deleted:
- The job or grade itself (only the compensation bands for that job/grade)
- Employee records
- HRIS matchers
Deleting Jobs and Pay Zones
If you delete all bands for a job:
- System surfaces an option to delete the parent job
- Deleting the job also deletes relevant mappings
- Warning: "This action cannot be undone and relevant mappings will also be deleted. You will need to create the job again and re-map it if you change your mind."
If you delete all bands in a pay zone:
- System surfaces an option to delete the parent pay zone
- Deleting the pay zone also deletes relevant mappings
- Same warning applies
When you filter to a job or pay zone with no bands:
The system shows two options:
- Delete the empty job/pay zone
- Add bands - Launches the add bands flow scoped to that job/pay zone
Before confirming deletion, you'll see the warning about mappings being deleted.
Impacted Surfaces
Deleted bands, jobs, or pay zones are reflected across all surfaces:
- Band count
- Add jobs flow
- Mappings
- Data rules
- Unmatched employees
- And all other relevant views
