# EMS integrations

EMS (equity management system) integrations sync equity grant data from your cap table provider into Pave. This data powers equity visibility in Total Rewards, Team View, and Compensation Planning.

## What data syncs

Pave pulls the following for each equity grant:

* **Grant details**: Grant date, share count, exercise price, grant type (options, RSUs, RSAs, common stock)
* **Vesting schedule**: Vesting start and end dates, cliff duration, vesting interval (monthly, quarterly, yearly), vesting events

## How EMS data is used in Pave

* **Total Rewards**: Shows employees their complete equity position alongside cash compensation.
* **Team View**: Displays equity details in employee profiles.
* **Compensation Planning**: Supports equity budget allocation and planning within merit cycles.
* **Market Data**: Equity data contributes to benchmarking and market comparisons.

## Connection methods

EMS integrations use a wider range of connection methods than other integration types, because cap table providers vary in how they share data:

* **OAuth**: You authorize Pave in your equity platform and data syncs automatically.
* **API**: Pave connects directly to your provider's API.
* **SFTP**: Your provider delivers files to a secure transfer location that Pave reads from.
* **CSV upload**: You upload a file from your provider using Pave's guided upload tool.

If your provider is not listed above, Pave also supports a custom equity upload that accepts CSV files in a standard format.

## Equity Grant Mapper

After connecting your EMS, Pave automatically matches equity grants to employees using work email, employee ID, or name. Grants that cannot be matched automatically appear in the Equity Grant Mapper, where you can manually assign them to the correct employees.

You can access the Equity Grant Mapper from the Connections page, on the tile for your equity integration. Unmatched grants need to be resolved for equity data to appear correctly in Total Rewards and Team View.
