Explore data composition
The Data Composition Explorer shows you which companies contribute to Pave's Market Data benchmarks. Use it to understand the breadth and makeup of the dataset behind the benchmarks you see.
You can access the Data Composition Explorer from the Market Data landing page by clicking Explore data coverage, or from links throughout the benchmark explorer.
What you see
The Data Composition Explorer has three tabs:
Companies: A searchable, filterable table of all participating companies. Summary stats at the top show the total number of companies, job families, and searchable locations in the dataset.
Job families: Browse the job families covered in the dataset.
Locations: View the locations where Pave has benchmark coverage.
Find specific companies
The Companies tab lists every company that contributes data to Pave's benchmarks. You can search for a specific company by name using the search bar above the table.
Each row shows:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Participant name | Company name |
| Headcount | Employee count range (for example, 101-1,000 or 10,000+) |
| Ownership | Private or public |
| Industry | Industry group and industry name |
| Market cap | Market capitalization range (public companies only) |
| Revenue | Revenue range (public companies only) |
Market cap and revenue are only displayed for public companies because this information is publicly available.
Filter and sort the list
You can narrow the participating companies table using the filters above the table:
- Headcount: Filter by employee count range
- Ownership: Show private companies only, public companies only, or both
- Industry: Filter by industry or industry group
You can also sort the table by multiple columns at once. For example, you can sort by headcount first and then by market cap as a secondary sort. Each column sort you apply is added to the existing sort order rather than replacing it.
Download the participant list
Click Download (.xlsx) above the table to export the full list of participating companies as an Excel file. The download includes all columns visible in the table.
