# [Legacy] Compare Bands

## **What is Compare Bands?**

You can compare bands between two different band sets or in the same band set. This is can be used to finalize your bands by seeing how bands differ from one another.

## Set up Compare Bands


1. To compare bands, go to your draft band set and click “Compare Bands.” This feature is only available in draft band sets.
2. When you open Compare Bands, you will be prompted to compare:

   
   1. **Different band sets,** such as comparing bands in your draft band set to your live band set.
   2. **The same band set**
3. **You will then be prompted to select an anchor and comparison band.**

   
   1. **The anchor bands** will be from the band set you are currently in, it will be compared to your comparison bands, and these bands will be editable.
   2. **The comparison bands** will be visible if there is a corresponding band available and will not be editable.
4. **You will then be prompted to choose your filters to get to the right bands to compare.**

   
   1. **Different band sets:** You must choose the same filters for the anchor and comparison bands, such as the Engineering function and Software Engineering family.
   2. **The same band set:** You can choose a different function, family, and ladder for the anchor and comparison bands, such as the Engineering function, Software Engineering vs. DevOps Engineering families, and IC ladder.

## Compare Bands and Edit the Anchor Band


1. In table view, the green delta number represents the difference between the anchor band and the comparison band.

   
   1. **Note**: In order to view the delta between calculated columns when comparing bands, both band sets must have those columns visible/enabled.    2. **Note**: If the band set you are looking for is not present in the comparison band set, you will see that there is no comparison band to compare to in table view.
2. You can edit the anchor band, but not the comparison band, using the edit bar at the top of the page. Press save to save your changes.
