Manage & Edit Jobs

The Jobs view lets you edit job details and move jobs between functions and families. This guide covers how to update your job architecture.

Viewing Jobs

Access the Jobs View

  1. Navigate to Market Pricing in the main navigation
  2. Open your band set
  3. Click the Jobs tab

Functions (left column)

  • All job functions in your organization
  • Click the pencil icon to rename a function

Families (middle column)

  • Families within the selected function
  • Click the pencil icon to rename or move a family

Jobs (right column)

  • All jobs within the selected family
  • Shows Title, Track, Rank, Level, HRIS family, HRIS level, # employees
  • Click the pencil icon to edit a ladder or individual job


Adding Jobs

Jobs are added when you add bands to your band set. There is no separate "Add Job" functionality in the Jobs view.

To add new jobs:

  1. Go to the Bands tab
  2. Click Add bands
  3. Select the jobs and pay zones to add

Editing Jobs

Edit a Ladder

Edit all jobs within a ladder at once:

  1. Click the pencil icon next to the ladder name (e.g., "Data Engineering - IC")
  2. Update the ladder details:
    • Name - The ladder name (e.g., "Data Engineering - IC")
    • Function / Family - Move the ladder to a different function or family
  3. Click Save

What changes:

  • Ladder name updates for all jobs in the ladder
  • If you change function/family, all jobs in the ladder move to the new location

Edit an Individual Job

Edit a specific job's details:

  1. Click on a job row to open the job details sidepeek
  2. Update the job fields:
    • Job title - The display title for this job
    • Job level - The level identifier (e.g., P5, IC3, M2)
    • HRIS level - HRIS level values that match to this job
    • HRIS family - HRIS family values that match to this job
  3. Click Add HRIS matcher to add multiple HRIS matchers
  4. Changes save automatically

Employee matching: The sidepeek shows "X employees found" based on current HRIS matchers. If employees aren't matching correctly, update the HRIS level and HRIS family fields.


Moving Jobs

Move an Individual Job

Move a single job to a different function, family, ladder, or change its rank within a ladder.

  1. Click on a job to open the job details drawer
  2. Edit the job's identity fields:
    • Function - Move to a different function (dropdown shows existing functions)
    • Family - Move to a different family within the function
    • Ladder - Move to a different ladder (e.g., Software Engineering - IC → Software Engineering - Manager)
    • Track - Change track (Professional, Executive, etc.)
    • Rank - Change position within the ladder (numeric value)
  3. Click** Save**

Important constraints:

  • The job's level must be unique within the destination
  • If the target rank is occupied, other jobs will automatically shift up to make room

Move a Family to a Different Function

  1. In the Families column, click the pencil icon next to the family name
  2. In the "Edit family" modal:
    • Update Function dropdown to select a new function
    • Optionally update the HRIS family that matches to this family
  3. Click Save

What happens:

  • All jobs in that family move to the new function
  • Ladders and job levels remain unchanged
  • Employee matching updates based on new HRIS family (if changed)

Move a Ladder to a Different Family

  1. Click the pencil icon next to the ladder name
  2. In the "Edit ladder" modal:
    • Update Function / Family dropdown to select a new family
  3. Click Save

What happens:

  • All jobs in the ladder move to the new family
  • Job levels and ranks remain unchanged
  • HRIS matching may need to be updated if the family change affects matching
