# Manage your connections

Pave connects to your HRIS, EMS, ATS, and performance management systems to keep compensation data current across the platform. All connections are managed from a single page in Pave.

## Where to find your connections

Go to **Settings**, then select **Connections**. You need the Integrations edit permission to access this page (Admins and Integrators have this by default).

## Integration types

The Connections page organizes integrations into sections by type. Each section focuses on a different kind of data:

* **HRIS**: Employee, job, and compensation data. This is the first section on the page, and other sections are locked until your HRIS is connected. Most Pave features depend on this data.
* **EMS**: Equity grant data including vesting schedules, share counts, and exercise prices. Powers equity visibility in Total Rewards and Team View.
* **ATS**: Candidate and offer data for Visual Offer Letter and Total Rewards communications.
* **Performance**: Performance ratings and review cycles. Links to Compensation Planning so merit recommendations can factor in performance.

Each type has its own overview article with supported providers and details about what data syncs:

* HRIS integrations
* EMS integrations
* ATS integrations
* Performance integrations

## Understanding sync status

Each connected integration shows a status indicator:

* **In sync**: The connection is healthy and data is current.
* **Error**: Pave cannot reach the integration or is receiving no data. This usually means credentials have expired, permissions changed in the external system, or the provider is temporarily unavailable.
* **Processing**: The integration was recently connected or updated and Pave is importing data. Automated connections typically resolve within a few minutes. Manual integrations (CSV uploads, SFTP) may take up to 48 hours.
* **Paused**: Data fetching has been paused. Contact your Pave team to resume.
* **Deactivated**: The integration is inactive and not syncing.
* **Expiring soon**: A file-based connection (CSV upload) is approaching its expiration date. Re-upload to keep data current.
* **Expired**: A file-based connection has expired and is no longer syncing. Re-upload to restore the connection.

Connected integrations also display the last sync time and the number of records imported.

## Deleting a connection

To remove an integration, click the three-dot menu on the integration tile and select **Delete connection**. Pave will ask you to confirm before removing it.

To reconnect after deleting, select the integration type and go through the setup flow again. This creates a new connection from scratch.

## No-PII connections

Some integrations support a no-PII mode for customers using Pave for market data only. In this mode, Pave collects compensation and job data without syncing personally identifiable information like names and email addresses. No-PII mode is configured at the account level. If your account uses no-PII connections, the individual connect articles for affected providers note which fields are included and excluded.
