Connect BambooHR
Connect BambooHR
BambooHR is an HRIS integration that syncs employee, job, and compensation data to Pave via OAuth.
Before you connect
- You must be a BambooHR admin to authorize the connection.
- Have your BambooHR company URL ready (for example,
yourcompany.bamboohr.com). - By default, Pave requests access to all employee data fields. If you want to limit what Pave can access, set up a Custom Access Level in BambooHR before connecting (see below).
Optional: create a Custom Access Level
If your organization requires limiting Pave's access to specific employee data, create a Custom Access Level in BambooHR before authorizing:
-
In BambooHR, go to Settings > Access Levels.
-
Click the plus icon and select Custom Access Levels.
-
Under View Only, enable the following fields:
- Personal > Basic Info: Employee #, First Name, Last Name, Preferred Name
- Personal > Contact: Work Email
- Job: Hire Date, Original Hire Date
- Job > Employment Status: Employment Status Date, Employment Status
- Job > Job Information: Job Information Date, Job Title, Reporting to, Department, Division, Location
- Job > Compensation: Compensation Date, Pay Schedule, Pay Type, Pay Rate
-
Click Save.
-
Add the employee account you will use to authorize Pave to this Custom Access Level.
-
Make sure you are logged into BambooHR with that account when you click Authorize in Pave.
Connect BambooHR to Pave
- In Pave, go to Connections and find BambooHR.
- Enter your BambooHR company URL (for example,
yourcompanyoryourcompany.bamboohr.com). - Click Authorize. You will be redirected to BambooHR.
- Review the permissions Pave is requesting and click Allow.
- You will be redirected back to Pave. Go to Connections and verify the BambooHR integration shows as connected.
Troubleshooting
Invalid company ID error Make sure you entered a valid BambooHR company URL. Pave accepts the full URL (for example, yourcompany.bamboohr.com) or just the subdomain (for example, yourcompany). If you continue to have issues, contact support@pave.com.
Connection shows as inaccessible The authorization flow may not have completed. Go to Connections, find BambooHR, and click Authorize to restart the process.
Data is missing or incomplete If specific fields are missing, check your BambooHR access level settings. Pave can only sync fields that the authorizing account has permission to view. If you set up a Custom Access Level, verify that all required fields are enabled.
Token expired BambooHR access tokens expire periodically. Pave refreshes tokens automatically, but if the refresh fails, the integration will stop syncing. Go to Connections, find BambooHR, and click Authorize to re-establish the connection.
