Connect Zenefits

Zenefits is an HRIS integration that syncs employee, job, and compensation data to Pave via API token.

Before you connect

• You must have admin access to your Zenefits Company Profile to create API tokens.

Connect Zenefits to Pave

1. In Zenefits, open your Company Profile and select Custom Integrations.
2. In the REST API box, select + Add Token.
3. Select and save the following scopes:
   • Companies
   • Company's Locations
   • Company's Departments
   • Date of Birth
   • Gender
   • Labor Groups
   • Labor Group Types
   • People
   • Person's Department
   • Person's Location
   • Person's Home Address
   • Manager
   • Status
   • Work Email
   • Employments
   • Compensation
   • Employment Type
   • Custom Fields
   • Custom Field Values
4. Click the eye icon to reveal the token, then copy it.
5. In Pave, go to Connections and find Zenefits.
6. Paste the token in the key field and click Add.
7. Go to Connections and verify the Zenefits integration shows as connected.

Troubleshooting

Connection shows in error state (401 error) This typically indicates the API token is invalid. Confirm that the correct token was entered in Pave. If the token was revoked or regenerated in Zenefits, you will need to enter the new token in Pave by clicking Resolve on the integration.

No data appears after connecting Verify that all required scopes are selected on your API token in Zenefits. If any scopes are missing, create a new token with the full list of scopes and update the token in Pave.

Data is missing or incomplete Check that the required scopes are enabled on your API token. If specific fields are missing, verify that the data is populated in the employee records in Zenefits. Some delivered fields in Zenefits are not available through the API (for example, legal ethnicity).

Custom mappings may apply to your account.

• First name, last name, preferred name
• Work email
• Date of birth
• Employment type
• Department
• Manager name, manager email
• City, state, country, zip code
• Start date, termination date
• Base pay, currency

Additional data

• Compensation history: Not supported natively. Pave syncs current compensation only through the Zenefits API, but you can upload historical compensation data via CSV.
• Custom fields: Supported. Custom field mappings require configuration by your Pave team.
• Benefits: Not supported natively through the Zenefits API, but you can upload benefits data via CSV.
