Bands Access
There are three permissions that can be granted for the Band Manager. These can be viewed and managed from Settings → Role & Permissions.
Band Manager Access
This permission gives the user access to view the Band Manager icon in the sidebar. Without this permission, users with Band Admin or Band Viewer permissions will not be able to access the Band Manager.
Band Admin
This permission gives the user access to view and edit all bands across all Band sets for the company, and gives the user the ability to create new drafts and publish those drafts to Live or to Merit Cycles.
The Admin role in a company is automatically assigned Band Manager Access
: View
and Band Admin
: Edit
.
The Band Admin permission will override the Band Viewer permission. For example, if a user is granted access to Band Admin
: Edit
and Band Viewer
: Reports Only
, they’ll see be able to view and edit all bands across all Band Sets.
Band Viewer
This permission gives the user access to view bands in the Live set only, and does not grant any edit, create or download access. Band Viewers can be granted four different types of granular access:
- All: Band Viewers can view all bands in the Live Set
- Reports Only: Band Viewers can view the bands of employees in their reporting chain in the Live set
- Custom: Band Viewers can only view bands in the Live set filtered by Function, Ladder, Ladder Type, Ladder Rank and/or Pay Zone. For example: a technical recruiter in SF might only be able to view bands of Ladder:
Software Engineering
and Ladder Type:IC
and Pay Zone:San Francisco.
- Themselves: Band Viewers can only view their own band in the Live set.
