What is column management?
Columns can be made visible, hidden, and renamed from Band Settings > Column Management, which can be accessed from either the Reorder Columns sidepeek or the gear icon in the upper right of your bands table view.
By hiding columns for non-admins, they will no longer be visible in their bands table view. Common examples of why Bands Admins would utilize this feature are:
- To align columns to fields that non-admins are familiar with such as family and level
- HRIS job matchers are not relevant to non-admins, like people managers or recruiters
This granularity allows admins to unhide columns for newer sets as non-admins gain familiarity with Pave’s Job Architecture or hide columns as the number of active non-admins increases.
Note: These settings are specific to a given Compensation Band Set.
How to use column management
There are three types of columns that you can change visibility for and rename. To make edits, click the “edit” button in the upper left hand corner. After making edits, click “save” to see changes reflected in bands table view.
Calculated Columns: These columns can easily be made visible or hidden for admins and non-admins. Note: You will only be able to view calculated columns for which you have pay types configured on the band set.
For non-admins or admins:

To hide the column for non-admins, remove the check in the box “visible for non-admins” and press save.

To hide the columns for admins, remove the check in the box on the left hand side and press save.

To make the column visible for admins or non-admins, click either check box and press save.

Return to table view to see these columns, and reorder them from the “Columns” button in table view.

Band values and other columns: These columns can be made visible or hidden for non-admins. As an admin, these columns can be deleted for the values from bands in this band set.
For non admins:
- To hide/show a column for non-admins, click the column check box and then press save.
For admins:
- To delete the values for admins, remove the checkbox on the left hand side and press save. Note: To access these values again, you will need to upload a csv.
Required band columns
For non-admins:
- These columns can only be shown or hidden for non-admins, by adding or removing a check in the box “visible for non-admins” and pressing save.
How to preview non admin view

Bands Admins can replicate what columns non admins see by clicking “Show Non Admin View” and clicking “Hide Non Admin View” to see their Admin view.
