  2. Navigate to the Integration Center (within Admin / Manager).
  3. Select Get Started from the TriNet API section.
  4. Select Pave from the "Select an Integration" drop-down menu.
  5. Review the level of access being granted and select Accept.
  6. Copy your Company ID, API Key, and Secret.
  7. In Pave, go to Connections and find TriNet.
  8. Enter your Company ID, API Key, and Secret in the form.
  9. Click Submit.
  10. Go to Connections and verify the TriNet integration shows as connected.

Troubleshooting

Connection shows in error state The API credentials may be invalid or expired. In TriNet, navigate to My Connected Apps (Admin / Manager > Integration Center > My Connected Apps) and check whether the Pave connection is still active. If the credentials need to be regenerated, select Disconnect on the Pave app in My Connected Apps, then repeat the connection steps above to generate new credentials.

No data appears after connecting Verify that your API credentials are correct and that the Company ID matches your TriNet account. TriNet may take a few minutes to make data available after the initial connection.

Data is missing or incomplete Pave syncs active employees, employees on leave, and employees on paid leave. Terminated employees are not included. If specific employee records are missing, verify their employment status in TriNet.

Fields that sync

Custom mappings may apply to your account.

  • First name, last name
  • Work email
  • Employment type
  • Job title, department
  • City, state, country, zip code
  • Start date, termination date
  • Manager name, manager email
  • Base pay, bonus

All compensation data syncs in USD. TriNet does not provide currency information through its API, so all pay values default to US dollars.

  • Custom fields: Supported. Custom field mappings require configuration by your Pave team.
  • Benefits: Not supported natively through the TriNet API, but you can upload benefits data via CSV.
