Set up Learning Hub content

Learning Hub helps you educate employees and candidates about compensation without increasing your support burden. By providing self-service answers directly in Total Rewards, you reduce repetitive questions and ensure consistent messaging about pay, benefits, and equity.

Why use Learning Hub

Reduce support questions. Employees can find answers to common compensation questions without reaching out to HR or People Operations. This frees your team to focus on strategic work instead of answering the same questions repeatedly.

Educate at scale. Instead of explaining equity vesting or bonus calculations one-on-one, create pages once and share them with everyone who needs the information. Updates propagate immediately to all relevant users.

Deliver relevant content. Show different information to different groups based on their compensation structure. Employees with equity see equity education, candidates see offer-specific guidance, and users with Compensation Simulator access see future modeling tips.

Maintain quality and control. Preview pages before publishing to ensure accuracy. Edit live pages without disrupting users, then publish changes when ready. Unpublish outdated content instantly.

What is Learning Hub

Learning Hub is a help drawer that appears in Total Rewards and Visual Offer Letter. Users click to open the drawer and browse through pages you've created. Each page can contain educational content, FAQs, policy explanations, or links to external resources.

You can create pages targeted to:

  • All users (both employees and candidates)
  • Employees only
  • Candidates only
  • Employees with specific pay types (for example, only employees with Stock Options)
  • Employees with access to Compensation Simulator

Only pages that match a user's profile appear in their drawer. This ensures each person sees relevant content without being overwhelmed by information that doesn't apply to them.

Create a Learning Hub page

Why create pages: Self-service content reduces repetitive support questions and scales education across your organization. Instead of explaining concepts individually, create a page once and share it with everyone who needs it.

How to create a page:

  1. Go to Settings > Communicate > Learning Hub
  2. Select Add page in the top right corner of the page
  3. Enter a Page title (this appears at the top of the page in the Learning Hub drawer)
  4. Choose whether to use the page title in the Learning Hub menu:
    • Check Use title for Learning Hub menu to display the full page title in the menu navigation
    • Uncheck this option to enter a separate Menu title — useful when the page title is long (over 18 characters) but you want a shorter label in the menu
  5. Add a Page description (optional — supports bold, italic, underline, and links)
  6. Add Page content (supports heading 3, lists, bold, italic, underline, and links) The page is automatically saved as a draft. You must publish it before users can see it in Total Rewards.

Target pages to specific audiences

Why target audiences: Showing only relevant content prevents information overload and improves the employee experience. Someone without equity doesn't need to see equity education. Candidates need offer guidance, not merit cycle explanations.

How targeting works: You can restrict visibility based on user type, pay types, or feature access. Users only see pages that match their profile.

In the Page visibility section on the right sidebar:

  • Everyone — Visible to both employees and candidates
  • Employees — Visible only to employees
  • Candidates — Visible only to candidates
  • Custom — Choose specific conditions:
    • Employees with specific pay types (for example, show equity-related content only to employees who have equity compensation)
    • Employees with Compensation Simulator access (show future modeling guidance only to users with access to that feature — see Configure Compensation Simulator) To target a page by pay type:
  1. Select Custom under Page visibility
  2. Choose Employees from the first dropdown
  3. Select payType from the condition dropdown
  4. Choose the pay type from the final dropdown (for example, Stock Options, RSUs, Cash Bonus)

Only users who have that pay type in their compensation will see the page.

Preview a Learning Hub page

Why preview: Ensure content is accurate, clear, and well-formatted before employees see it. Catch typos, broken links, or confusing explanations without publishing a draft.

How to preview:

  1. While editing a page, select Preview page in the top right corner of the Page visibility section
  2. The preview opens in a drawer that matches the Total Rewards experience
  3. Navigate between pages using the left menu (if you have multiple pages)
  4. Close the preview to return to editing

Publish a Learning Hub page

Why the publish workflow matters: You control exactly when employees see new content or updates. Edit and refine pages without disrupting the live experience, then publish when ready. Unpublish outdated content instantly without deleting it.

How publishing works: Draft pages are only visible to admins in Settings. Publishing makes a page visible to users in Total Rewards. Editing a live page creates a draft version so the live content remains stable until you publish the update.

To publish a new page:

  1. After saving your changes, select Publish in the right sidebar
  2. The page status changes from "Draft" to "Live"
  3. The page is now visible to users who meet the visibility criteria To publish changes to a live page:

When you edit a live page, your changes are saved as a draft. The live version remains unchanged until you publish.

  1. Edit a live page and select Save
  2. Your changes are saved as a draft (the live version remains unchanged)
  3. Select Publish changes to make the updated content live
  4. Users immediately see the new version

To unpublish a page:

Unpublishing removes a page from user view without deleting it. Use this to temporarily hide outdated content or pull back a page for major revisions.

  1. Open the page menu (three dots next to the page title in the table)
  2. Select Unpublish
  3. The page becomes a draft and is no longer visible to users

Manage Learning Hub pages

Rename Learning Hub

Why customize the name: Tailor the drawer title to match your company's terminology. Some companies use "Comp Resources," "Help Center," or "Your Guide" instead of "Learning Hub."

How to rename:

  1. Go to Settings > Communicate > Learning Hub
  2. In the Name of Learning Hub field at the top, enter your preferred title
  3. Select Save

This title appears at the top of the Learning Hub drawer when users open it.

Reorder pages

Why reorder matters: Put the most important or frequently accessed content first. Users see pages in the order you set, so strategic ordering improves discoverability.

How to reorder:

  1. Hover over a page row to reveal the drag handle icon on the left side
  2. Drag the page using the handle and drop it in the desired position
  3. Select Save in the bottom action bar

Only live pages appear in the menu for users. Draft pages always appear at the bottom of the table and do not affect menu order.

Duplicate a page

Why duplicate: Save time when creating similar pages for different audiences. Start with an existing page and modify the audience targeting or content instead of writing from scratch.

How to duplicate:

  1. Select the three-dot menu next to the page you want to duplicate
  2. Choose Duplicate
  3. A new draft page is created with "Copy of" prepended to the title
  4. Edit the duplicated page as needed

Delete a page

To delete a page:

  1. Select the three-dot menu next to the page you want to delete
  2. Choose Delete
  3. Confirm the deletion in the modal

Deleted pages are permanently removed. If a page was linked to Compensation Simulator settings, that link is automatically removed when you delete the page.

What else to know

Draft vs live pages

  • Draft pages are only visible to admins in Settings. Users in Total Rewards cannot see them.
  • Live pages are visible to users in Total Rewards (if they meet the visibility criteria).
  • When you edit a live page and save, your changes create a draft version. The live page remains unchanged until you select Publish changes.
  • Draft pages appear at the bottom of the table, below all live pages. You cannot reorder draft pages until they are published.

Page visibility logic

Pages are visible to a user only if both conditions are met:

  1. The page is live
  2. The user matches the visibility criteria (user type, pay type, or feature access)

If a page is targeted to employees with Stock Options, only employees who have Stock Options in their compensation profile will see that page.

Compensation Simulator integration

If you link a Learning Hub page to Compensation Simulator in Settings > Communicate > Compensation Simulator, that page opens automatically when users access the simulator. Unpublishing or deleting a linked page removes the link from Compensation Simulator settings.

See Configure Compensation Simulator for details on linking Learning Hub pages to the simulator.

Live pages appear immediately

When you publish a page or publish changes to an existing page, users see the updated content immediately. No refresh is required on their end.

Learning Hub and Total Rewards access

Learning Hub is only available to users who can access Total Rewards or Visual Offer Letter. If you do not have either product enabled, Learning Hub will not appear in Settings.
