Connect Workday Performance
Connect Workday Performance
Workday Performance Management is a performance integration that syncs performance review and promotion data to Pave via a Workday Report as a Service (RaaS) endpoint.
Before you connect
- You must be a Workday administrator with permissions to create custom reports.
- You will need to create the following in Workday before connecting to Pave:
- A Report as a Service (RaaS) custom report containing your performance data
- An Integration System User (ISU) for Pave to authenticate with
- An Integration System Security Group (ISSG) to control what data the ISU can access
- The ISU must be assigned to the ISSG, and the ISSG must have access to the report.
Connect Workday Performance to Pave
Set up your Workday report
-
As a Workday administrator, create a new Report as a Service (RaaS) custom report.
-
Add the following employee performance fields to the report. Fields marked as required must be included for the integration to work.
Required
- Performance Cycle Name
- Performance Cycle State
- Employee Email
- Rating Value
Optional
- Date Performance Opened
- Date Performance Closed
- Employee Name
- Employee ID
- Rating Label
- Date Review Was Complete
- Date Promotion Is Effective
- Promotion Status
- Promotion Level
- Promotion Job Code
-
Create an Integration System User (ISU) and an Integration System Security Group (ISSG). Assign the ISU to the ISSG and grant the ISSG access to the report.
-
Generate the JSON URL for the report. The URL must end with
format=json.
Submit credentials in Pave
- In Pave, go to Connections and find Workday Performance Management.
- Enter the JSON URL, ISU username, and ISU password.
- Click Submit. Pave verifies the credentials by attempting to fetch data from the report.
Troubleshooting
"Report URL must end with format=json" The RaaS JSON URL you entered does not end with format=json. Copy the correct URL from your Workday report output and make sure it includes this parameter.
Connection fails when submitting credentials The ISU username or password may be incorrect, or the ISU may not have access to the report. Verify that the ISU is assigned to the correct Integration System Security Group and that the ISSG has permissions on the report.
No data appears after connecting Check that your RaaS report contains data and includes the required fields (Performance Cycle Name, Performance Cycle State, Employee Email, Rating Value). If the report is empty or missing required fields, Pave cannot process the data.
After you connect
After you submit your credentials, work with your CSE to make sure all data is mapped appropriately. Pave's integrations team configures the field mapping between your Workday report fields and Pave's performance data model. Data begins syncing after the mapping is configured.
Fields that sync
Custom mappings may apply to your account. Pave's integrations team configures the mapping between your Workday report fields and Pave's performance data model after you connect.
The fields included in your RaaS report (listed in the connection steps above) determine what syncs to Pave:
- Performance cycle name and state
- Cycle dates (opened, closed)
- Employee email, name, and ID
- Rating label and value
- Review completion date
- Promotion data (status, level, job code, effective date)
