What is the Learning Hub?
The Learning Hub is a new configurable interface where companies can provide their employees & candidates with a comprehensive understanding of how all compensation programs operate within their organization, through customized L&D content & guidance. By mapping specific modules to Pave compensation keys, companies can share relevant guidance with each employee based on the types of compensation they’re eligible to receive.
Customers can add any broad or comp-type specific information to their Learning Hub, including:
Philosophy
- The compensation philosophy that informs a particular compensation program (e.g. the “why” behind how this comp program was designed)
Guidance & Guardrails
- Guidance that helps manage employee & manager expectations around that compensation program (e.g. sharing guidance around how merit increases or promotions are approached by the company)
FAQs & Glossary
- Central answers & term definitions for FAQs that the Compensation team generally spends a lot of time answering duplicately across various resources & channels
Why did we build this now?
We’ve heard consistent feedback from customers expressing their desire to customize the language they can show their employees. Customized guidance that accurately reflects the specific nuances of company compensation programs is crucial for companies.
By creating the right interface for companies to add their own comprehensive L&D content, we can support our vision for Total Rewards to become a source of truth for Total Rewards communication.
What is our vision for the Learning Hub? How might it evolve in the future?
Vision for the Learning Hub
Total Rewards & Compensation leaders leverage the Learning Hub as the primary source of truth within the company to provide a comprehensive understanding of all compensation practices and programs, including the purpose, timing, and implementation details of each program within the company's Total Rewards. The hub enables compensation leaders to establish a shared understanding of each compensation program at every level of the organization: individual contributors, managers and senior leadership.
Future directions
The Learning Hub will support the mission of Total Rewards to attract, retain, and grow top talent. To achieve this, there are several future directions for the evolution of the Learning Hub that we will continue to assess as we gain a better understanding of how customers utilize the Learning Hub:
Employees can understand their job ladder & competencies
- View previous, current, and next level in their job ladder as well as target compensation & key competencies of each level
Compensation teams can gauge employee understanding & feedback of comp programs
- Anonymous polling, questions & feedback submission architected by compensation teams
Compensation Philosophy as a codified & first class product experience
- Enhancements that enable Total Rewards leaders to communicate their compensation philosophy in a more structured & first class format, based on how & which details compensation leaders commonly need to communicate to employees.
Features in this release
Dynamic Modules
- Each Hub page can either appear for everyone, or dynamically based on the presence of a specific compensation key in the user’s TR/VOL portal.
- For example, companies can choose to only share information about RSUs with employees who have RSUs in their compensation package.
Custom Content & Labels
- Pave will have default hub pages & content for customers to use, but customers can customize the hub’s number of pages, page labels, and all copy in each page.
Configs: Live Edits Preview
- Admins are able to preview a page’s drafted updates, right from within the configuration page, before saving their edits. The preview shows the page’s appearance to an employee within their Learning Hub.
Configs: Draft Mode
- Admins can save Hub pages as Drafts, which saves their work without reflecting changes in the portal. Admins can then Publish a page once they’re ready to enable it in the portal for employees to view.
How to Implement
Customers can manage their Learning Hub content under Settings > Communicate > Learning Hub.
-
Enable the applicable permissions.
-
The Pages section will include all Live & Draft pages. From this table, you can rearrange page order, review status & last edit date information, and edit, create, and remove pages.
-
When editing or creating a new page in the Page view, customers should set a title, title description, and finally the page content. Rich text formatting & links are supported. We do not support images or video content at this time.
-
Once content is ready, customers can set the page’s visibility to everyone (viewable by all candidates & employees), or to only employees with a specific pay type, which will then prompt the customer to select the corresponding pay type to map this page to.
-
Next, the customer should Preview their changes via the
Preview page
button, below thePublish
option. Finally, they may save their page as aDraft
within their settings, orPublish
to Total Rewards & Visual Offer Letter.
