Summary
This doc explains what employee eligibility is and how to manage employee eligibility for merit increases in your cycles in Pave.
Note: Employees are either eligible for all compensation types today, or are not eligible for any. Pave does not currently support column-specific eligibility.
Eligibility Statuses
There are 3 eligibility statuses that an employee can take on during a compensation cycle:
- eligible - the employee is able to receive compensation changes during the cycle and planners can enter changes for salary raise, equity grants etc.
- ineligible - the employee is unable to receive any compensation changes during the cycle; managers cannot propose any type of compensation change. This usually applies to employees who just joined the company, but sometimes there are other reasons an employee may be ineligible (e.g. just moved into a new role).
- hidden - the employee does not appear in the compensation cycle at all. This status is typically reserved for execs for whom the company doesn’t want any admin to be able to see their comp nor specify comp changes. In this case, hidden employees’ compensation is typically handled outside of any Pave cycle.
Managing Eligibility
Note: This feature is currently in private Beta right now. Please contact your Customer Success Manager or Implementation Manager for more information.
Admins can manage eligibility statuses for employees in a given cycle by going to the new “Employees” sub-panel within the “Configurations” tab.
You can see employees grouped by the 3 eligibility statuses with the top filter.
To move employees to a different status, simply use the multi-select checkbox to select the employees you want to move and then use one of the action buttons to change their eligibility status.
You can set filters by country, start date, or department, and then bulk select to easily move all employees who qualify based on certain eligibility criteria to a new status (e.g. all employees who started before X date should be eligible).
Finally, use the search box to find a specific employee by name or email and change their status.
Note: if you need to make a change to approval chains, please work with your Implementation Manager. Approval chains will not be affected by changing eligibility.
